As anticipated, the travel regulations have changed again and the below details are outdated. Please refer to the Bahamas Travel Website for the latest info. – updated January 7, 2022

The situation was looking so much better just a few short weeks ago. Now, the Omicron variant is wreaking havoc across the globe and travel regulations are changing once again. The news rules are different for vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors. The Bahamas Travel website is a great resource with up-to-date information.

Fully Vaccinated Travelers

Effective 27 December, 2021, fully vaccinated persons travelling to The Bahamas from other countries will be required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test (either a Rapid Antigen Test or RT-PCR), taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival to The Bahamas.

Fully Vaccinated Travelers

Effective 4 January 2022, a Rapid Antigen Test will be required for all travellers staying in The Bahamas longer than 48 hours (two (2) nights), regardless of vaccination status.

At this time, the Bahamas Government will only be accepting vaccinations by AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria/Covishield), Janseen (Johnson & Johnson), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Moderna (Spikevax), Sinopharm, Covaxin or Sinovac.  Besides those, visitors who have received non-approved vaccines must follow the same protocols as unvaccinated travelers.

Unvaccinated Travelers

Effective Jan. 7, 2022, fully unvaccinated persons must present a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR (including PCR, NAA, NAAT, TMA or RNA) test.
COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Tests will no longer be accepted. Travelers must obtain a COVID-19 RT-PCR test.

Unvaccinated Travelers

Effective 4 January 2022, a Rapid Antigen Test will be required for all travellers staying in The Bahamas longer than 48 hours (two (2) nights), regardless of vaccination status.

Unvaccinated Travelers

All unvaccinated persons traveling into and throughout The Bahamas will be required to complete a short daily Health Questionnaire. The questionnaire must be completed upon arrival and each day thereafter for up to 14 days, or the duration of their stay, whichever is shorter.
This includes the day of departure, if traveling less than 14 days.

The Bahamas still requires all unvaccinated and vaccinated travelers to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa. This includes visitors, returning citizens and residents arriving via commercial flights, as well as by private planes, private boats, yachts or pleasure craft. You will upload your required documentation on their website. The approval decision can take several days, so make sure to have enough lead time.
