Tiger Beach is located on the western edge of the Little Bahama Bank in the Northern Bahamas. Today, it is undoubtedly one of the best underwater experiences available anywhere on this planet. Submerged in an amphitheater while the ocean’s apex predators calmly move through the clear, warm water of the Northern Bahamas, divers get a front row seat to show of countless sharks. Reef, Lemon, Nurse, Bull, Great Hammerhead, and of course, Tiger Sharks. Each season, the area provides a safe habitat within the territorial waters of The Bahamas, and is therefore part of a shark sanctuary. Unlike any other dive trip you might go on to experience drift, wreck, or reef diving, the focus here are the animals. It’s more like a safari to see the Top 5 in Africa than a dive vacation. Divers not only get the best opportunities to observe, interact, and photograph these incredible sharks, but also to learn the individual animals and their unique personalities. They make the dive, and are the reason it never gets old. But it took time to develop into the experience that it is today.
