Open Water Diver Certification in the Bahamas
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the most popular entry-level scuba certification worldwide. During your course, you’ll build the skills and knowledge to dive safely, then complete four open water dives right here in the Bahamas. After certification, you’ll be able to dive anywhere in the world with a buddy—no guide required.
Three Steps to Becoming a Certified Diver
1. Academics
Start with scuba theory, learning the essentials of underwater safety, dive planning, and equipment use. You can complete the academic portion online at your own pace—anytime, anywhere—then review with our instructors once you arrive in the Bahamas.
2. Confined Water Training
In a pool or calm, shallow water, you’ll practice dive skills like buoyancy, mask clearing, and gear setup. This step builds your confidence and comfort before heading out to the reef.
3. Open Water Training Dives
This is where the real magic happens! Over four open water dives on Grand Bahama’s beautiful reefs, you’ll explore vibrant marine life while demonstrating your dive skills. By the end, you’ll emerge as a fully certified diver, ready to explore the underwater world anywhere you travel.
What’s Included in Your Course
Students need their own mask, fins, and snorkel, and we’ll help you choose gear that fits perfectly.
