In addition, we will be having a host of activities and presentations planned though the week including:
And tons of fun in our women’s circle, dancing, karaoke and lots of surprises, making this a life changing experience, leaving you refreshed and ready to be amazing!
Boss Bitch Divers Retreats is a bold, women-led dive experience designed to empower female divers through transformative shark diving retreats. Based on the values of community, connection, and ocean conservation, our retreats bring women together from around the world. We work to build confidence, improve scuba skills, and dive with purpose.
We believe in the power of women supporting women—above and below the surface. Each retreat is crafted to foster personal growth, sisterhood, and a deep love for the ocean. There’s a special focus on shark awareness and marine conservation. Ultimately, whether you’re a new diver or an experienced ocean queen, Boss Bitch Divers offers a safe, fun, and inspiring space to grow.

Debra Canabal, Ph.D.
Debra earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Science with a concentration in neuroscience at Rutgers University. During graduate school, she went on her first shark dive in the Bay Islands of Honduras and immediately developed a passion and love for sharks. She began to focus her efforts on their preservation and joined Shark Research Institute as Director of Development. In 2010, Debra started Epic Diving which uses ecotourism as a platform to aid in the protection of sharks. Debra believes ecotourism, research, awareness and education will lead to the conservation of sharks, and hopes to inspire a new outlook on sharks and the need for their protection.Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Pia Oyarzún, OWSI
I’m Pia Oyarzun, a Chilean journalist turned ocean explorer. Since 2011, I’ve followed my passion for the sea—working as a PADI dive instructor, underwater photographer, and advocate for shark conservation. In 2018, I founded Made in Water, a boutique dive service offering personalized, small-group experiences, both from land and aboard private yachts. My goal is to deliver high-end, meaningful underwater encounters in one of the most stunning marine ecosystems in the world.
My work has brought me face-to-face with some of the ocean’s most misunderstood creatures—tiger sharks. I specialize in safe, respectful interactions with these apex predators, and I actively support research and education efforts aimed at their protection. Working alongside shark scientists, I’ve assisted in field operations and documentation that contribute to greater understanding of these powerful animals.
I’ve also worked as a videographer for Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and Good Morning America, capturing the magic of the deep. In 2023, I co-set a Guinness World Record with Canadian model Kim Bruneau for the world’s deepest underwater fashion shoot—photographed at 40.2 meters in Nassau.
Whether through teaching, photography, or immersive experiences, I aim to inspire others to connect with and protect the ocean—especially its most iconic and misunderstood inhabitants.
