COVID-19: Bahamas Travel & Tourism Updates
Scheduling/Reservations/Travel
For divers scheduled to join us in 2021, we are anticipating that the trips will run as scheduled. However, there is a possibility that the travel situation could change due to COVID-19 as we approach those dates. We will be in touch with all scheduled divers as the information becomes available. In the event the diving needs to be postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, you will be able to reschedule your trip to future dates. All monies paid toward your reservation will be credited to the rescheduled trip without expiration.
The Bahamas is currently requiring a negative COVID-19 test completed within 10 days of your travel. This requirement has already changed several times so please make sure you have the latest information prior to your trip. There is also an electronic health visa that must be completed by all tourists coming in to the Bahamas. It is essentially a questionnaire but also has you upload your negative COVID test results before granting the visa.
Dive Travel Insurance
As always, we do recommend guests get a dive-specific travel insurance plan, such as the kind offered by DAN or DiveAssure. While purchasing a plan now will not cover for trips postponed due to the global pandemic, they will provide coverage if you need to cancel for illness or injury. Plans will also provide coverage for travel delays, weather day cancellations, and a host of other unforeseen circumstances. Policies do vary and are changing so be sure to contact the insurance provider for details.
New Covid-19 Procedures
The Bahamas is currently requiring visitors to have a negative COVID-19 PCR test completed within 7 days of travel. This requirement has already changed several times since it was announced, so be sure to check the latest information.
We are updating our diving procedures to reflect the most up-to-date scientific information available to keep our guests, friends, family, and crew safe during travel to the Bahamas. In addition to more stringent cleaning and disinfecting of our dive boat and SCUBA gear, we are anticipating that all guests will be required to wear a facial covering while on the dive boat. Please be patient as we continually assess the latest information and implement necessary changes.
Don’t hesitate contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
