Last Minute Christmas Gifts for the Diver in Your Life
With Christmas rapidly approaching next week, I am sure that there are some of you who have yet to buy gifts for the diver in your life. Whether it is because you do not know what to get them or it is sheer procrastination, here is a short list of ideas to help you on your way to getting that perfect gift for the scuba loving, water obsessed person in your life.
A gift card to their dive shop- Almost all divers have a home dive shop that is in their area. Most of these dive shops carry their own merchandise and other little goodies that divers would love to have. Also, it’s a gift card. You can never go wrong with those… As long as it is a card to the right place that is!
A season pass to their local diving destination- Chances are, your diver has a favorite little dive destination that they love going to. Most of these places offer season passes for the next year, and oftentimes they are discounted during the holiday season.
Underwater lights- Lights are the weakness of pretty much all divers. Most divers have more lights than they will ever admit. There are just so many options and they are all so stinking cool. It’s a guilty pleasure! Just make sure whatever light you get is waterproof.
Air fill pass- This also goes back to your diver’s favorite dive destination. Most places charge for each air fill a diver needs, and an air fill pass would make your diver’s life that much easier. It is assuredly a thoughtful gift.
2016 Dive Calendar- This may sound cheesy or cheap, but a scuba diving calendar for the next year is something that most divers will appreciate. This calendar can include cool underwater photos from different places, or just scuba diving stuff for your diver to look at when their gills have dried out a bit.
Tank art- If your diver has their own personal scuba cylinder, consider getting them a voucher or certificate to get their tank tricked out! Having the coolest tank on the block will always be something your diver will appreciate.
Prints of their favorite photos- This idea would work if your diver was an underwater photographer. See a photo of theirs that they have been drooling over? Grab a digital copy of it and surprise them with an actual print to hang on the wall!
There are many other options out there that are not on this list, so have fun and be creative with whatever you choose! Many times, the thought behind the gift means more to the receiver than the actual item. By getting your diver a gift that goes with their passion, you are showing that you know that person and that you understand what they care about!
Happy Holidays!
