Ever dreamed of coming face-to-face with a shark in the wild? Shark diving is one of the most thrilling adventures the ocean offers, and the Bahamas is home to some of the world’s best encounters.
Epic Diving runs dedicated expeditions with a range of iconic species—from sleek reef sharks and awe-inspiring tiger sharks to the rare oceanic whitetip and the elusive great hammerhead. Every trip is designed for safe, heart-pounding excitement and unforgettable close-up encounters.
Our dive boat, M/V Thresher, moves between islands for the best shark diving encounters with the different species during their peak seasons.
Each season brings a new destination and a new cast of ocean stars. Our expeditions follow the sharks to their seasonal hotspots for the best encounters possible.
Bimini – Great Hammerhead Season (November – April)
We start each year in Bimini, diving alongside the legendary great hammerhead—an incredible, rarely seen species. Guests may also encounter bull sharks, nurse sharks, southern stingrays, and even playful wild dolphins.
Cat Island – Oceanic Whitetip Season (March–June)
In spring, we head to Cat Island, world-famous for its crystal-clear bluewater encounters with oceanic whitetip sharks. These pelagic predators are often joined by silky sharks, dusky sharks, and, on lucky days, blue marlin. Drifting in the deep brings surprises—blue sharks, mobula rays, tiger sharks, and great hammerheads have all made appearances.
Bimini – Wild Dolphin Expeditions (Summer)
When summer arrives, we return to Bimini to swim with Atlantic spotted and bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat—an unforgettable experience in warm, turquoise waters.
Tiger Beach – Grand Bahama Island (October – June)
For the rest of the year, we base ourselves at the legendary Tiger Beach, home to some of the most reliable big shark encounters in the world. Here, you can see tiger sharks, reef sharks, lemon sharks, and, on occasion, great hammerheads and bull sharks. It’s not unusual to encounter up to six shark species on a single dive.
We select sites that combine optimal conditions with the best shark activity for the season.
All our dives are in warm, clear Bahamian waters, with depths from 20 to 60 feet and visibility often exceeding 100 feet. Water temperatures range from 76°F to 82°F—perfect for extended encounters and incredible photography.
From your first giant stride to your last surface interval, we take care of every detail so you can focus on the experience.
Pack your gear, charge your camera, and join Epic Diving for the ultimate shark diving adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned underwater photographer or a first-time shark diver, these encounters will change the way you see the ocean forever.
